Welcome to Veisivi Hotel
Veisivi Hotel is pleased to welcome you in a quiet village setting, typical of central Valais. You can easily reach it by road, postal bus, or car, just 25 minutes from the N9 highway exit Sion-East Val d'Hérens.
In a family atmosphere, several entertainment options are offered: bar, terrace, restaurant with Valais specialties cooked over a wood fire, pétanque games. Private park for hotel-restaurant guests.
Thanks to its location in the center of the Evolène region, Veisivi Hotel is an ideal starting point for many walks, high mountain excursions, and the practice of summer sports (mountain biking, VITA trail, tennis, paragliding, climbing) and winter sports (alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, ice rink).
1965
Jean Maître, son of Antoine, managed the hotel with his sister Mariette from 1966. Marie Maître-Pralong, mother of Mariette and Jean, was in the kitchen.
Also in ’66, the hotel and restaurant were transformed with the creation of a carnotzet. Following her marriage, Monique Favre joined the team in 1968. Mariette left the establishment in 1974.
In 1981, the hotel underwent major renovations, modernizing the rooms with installation of showers and some toilets.
In 1999, following a federal cooking certificate, various professional experiences, a cantonal certificate in café-restaurant management, and passing a cantonal hotelier diploma granted by the Swiss Tourism School, Eddy, son of Jean and Monique, joined the hotel kitchen.
In 1990, the hotel was expanded with an annex offering fully equipped rooms as well as the creation of a professional kitchen and a new dining room.
From 2006, a new renovation of the hotel developed more comfortable and larger rooms. The work spanned 6 years and was completed in 2012.
In 2010, Eddy and Daniella officially took over the management of the establishment and Jean retired after 44 years of devoted service.
He continued to prepare the very renowned wood fire raclette, and Monique also continued to maintain the rooms and the hotel.
In 2001, Daniella Rey, newly married to Eddy, joined the house to take charge of the service.
In autumn 2018, major renovation work on the exterior facades was carried out with micro-sandblasting to clean the larch timber.
In 2014, the ongoing renewal of the establishment continued vigorously with the creation of a winter garden on the west side, which expanded the catering area with great success.
In April 2020, the bistro was revamped with new standing tables to modernize the bar area.
In spring 2019, the attic was repurposed by removing 3 small rooms. The creation of a suite extending over the entire floor completed the comprehensive renovation of the rooms.
In June 2019, new shutters were installed, the entrance frames were brushed, and the white paint was redone.
In May 2022, following the purchase of the garden adjacent to the terrace, a second terrace was created up to the pond. At the same time, the laundry room was modernized and relocated to make way for the next investment.
In January 2023, the last modernization of the rooms was planned with a major enlargement of a standard double room into a deluxe suite on the 2nd floor.
Several projects are still planned, such as creating a spa, installing an elevator, but especially an entrance and reception area for hotel guests.
In May, a pergola was installed on the new terrace. Inside, new chairs in the winter garden give a chic spirit to the restaurant.
Following all these works and service improvements, in July 2025 our establishment is rated 3 stars by Hotellerie Suisse. It is a beautiful and significant reward for all the efforts, sacrifices, and investments of the entire family across generations.
